Why CPR is Important?
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, keeps a person's blood and oxygen pumping to the brain and heart until paramedics arrives with more advance care. Approximately 80 percent of all cardiac arrests occurs somewhere other than in a hospital. If an individual suffers an out-of-hospital heart attack, their survival depends greatly on receiving immediate CPR from a bystander. Learning this lifesaving technique increases a victim's chance of survival.
